As I mentioned in our previous journal, I absolutely adore memorable and exquisite hotels and find endless inspiration, from the stunning architecture, inviting decor, exceptional service, wonderful locations, and more.
My friends and family know this about me! But what is it that I love so much about hotels and why?
Hotels provide an escape from the everyday routine of life and offer a sense of freedom that can be hard to find in our own homes.
Staying in a hotel allows us to explore new places without having to worry about the mundane tasks associated with living at home such as cleaning or cooking meals. Over the years there are things that are now mandatory when I'm selecting a hotel - Good Wifi, a Nespresso machine for that early morning espresso, herbal teas, a strong hairdryer, an iron/ironing board, a good location for walking and transport or parking. Express check-in and out is also a nice addition!
Here are some of my most memorable hotels to add to your bucket list for 2023.
Memorable Hotels: Australia
Moss Manor
Moss Vale, NSW.
Moss Manor, located in Moss Vale, is a circa 1890s Georgian building, once the residence of the Mayor of Moss Vale.
It is now a beautiful Boutique Art Hotel owned & operated by Louella Grattan-Smith.
Louella has created a welcoming, luxury guest experience in the heart of Moss Vale.
Staying at Moss Manor is equal to any of my favourite boutique art Hotels in Europe, where thoughtful attention is evident.
Within minutes of arriving, you feel like you never want to leave! From being welcomed like an old friend to the exceptional decor that embraces your senses at every turn.

Holiday Inn Potts Point
Potts Point, Sydney, NSW.
While I had avoided this hotel all the years I've been staying in Potts Point, due to its underwhelming yet inoffensive appearance, I recently discovered this hidden gem!
Affordable, clean, and friendly, the King Rooms have THE most wonderful view of Sydney City, including the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious, the bathrooms offer all the basic requirements of amenities, and there is 24-hour room service! The location is just perfect for those without a car as the train is at your doorstep but you won't hear it all.
You are also within walking distance of the city, the Royal Botanical Gardens, Rushcutters Bay, and the Botanic Gardens and you are surrounded by an array of eateries, bars, and cafes.
